Binance Says 90% of Assets Affected by Security Incident Have Been Replenished
Binance reports further asset replenishment and a proof-of-reserves snapshot. Withdrawal resumption remains planned, not confirmed.
Binance said on October 31 that it had replenished approximately 90% of assets affected by the recent security incident, up from the approximately 80% reported in its previous update. It says it is buying the remaining assets and will cover the losses.
The exchange says it is using corporate funds, part of SAFU and part of its futures insurance fund. It also reports a proof-of-reserves snapshot taken on October 31 at 08:00 Hong Kong time; the complete proof was expected on November 3 UTC. All figures come from Binance's announcement.
Binance expected withdrawals to resume on November 1, subject to a further announcement. The update did not confirm that withdrawals had resumed. Binance said it will post a further update once details are confirmed.
