About JPY Coin (JPYC)

JPYC is a stablecoin pegged one to one to the Japanese yen. Its issuer, JPYC Inc., was registered as a funds transfer service provider under Japan's Payment Services Act in August 2025, and the yen stablecoin launched in October 2025 as the first of its kind approved under Japan's rules. It is backed by bank deposits and Japanese government bonds and can be redeemed for yen.

Under the type of license JPYC holds, issuance and redemption are capped at 1 million yen, so the coin is aimed at payments and settlement rather than large transfers. The token runs on several blockchains, including Ethereum.
