Coinbase Opens Stock and ETF Trading to All US Users and Partners With Yahoo Finance

Coinbase made commission-free stock and ETF trading available to all US users in February 2026, with 24/5 trading and one-click trading from Yahoo Finance.

Coinbase announced on February 24, 2026 that stock trading was available to every Coinbase user in the United States. Customers can buy, sell and hold stocks and ETFs next to their crypto in the same app and account.

How it works

  • Zero commission on stock and ETF trades
  • Trading 24 hours a day, five days a week, starting with the most popular stocks, with thousands more planned
  • Fractional shares from $1
  • Funding with USD or USDC, with Coinbase One members earning rewards on USDC trading balances
  • Securities are offered by Coinbase Capital Markets Corp., a FINRA and SIPC member. Apex Fintech Solutions handles clearing, custody and execution.

    Yahoo Finance partnership

Coinbase also partnered with Yahoo Finance. Users researching an asset on Yahoo Finance can click through to trade it on Coinbase, and Yahoo Finance shows data from Coinbase to help users find and track assets. Yahoo Finance users were offered a free one-month trial of Coinbase One Basic.

    What comes next

Coinbase said it planned to expand stock perpetuals for traders outside the US that spring and to offer tokenized stocks later. In September 2026 it added IPO allocations for US retail customers through the same broker-dealer.

SIPC protection covers securities held with Coinbase Capital Markets but not crypto or cash held in a regular Coinbase account.
