What Are FX Perpetual Futures?

FX Perpetual Futures are USDT-settled derivatives that track the spot exchange rate between fiat currency pairs. Unlike traditional forex instruments, these contracts:

  • Trade 24/7, including weekends when traditional FX markets are closed
  • Are crypto-native with no expiration date
  • Use funding rates to keep contract prices anchored to underlying FX rates
  • Settle entirely in USDT — no fiat currency handling required

    Weekend Pricing Mechanism

A dual-mode pricing system maintains fair and orderly markets when traditional FX liquidity thins on weekends. Binance uses a proprietary model to derive fair value prices during low-liquidity periods, protecting traders from artificial spreads.
