Binance Extends bStocks Margin Collateral Eligibility to All Users
Binance extended bStocks margin collateral eligibility to all Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts, while adding suitability checks and risk controls for some account tiers.
Binance announced that bStocks margin collateral eligibility is now available to all Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts.
The official announcement was published on September 21, 2026 at 08:00 UTC, which is September 21 at 16:00 Hong Kong time.
What changed
Users can use eligible bStocks assets as collateral in the supported margin account types. Binance says the change broadens collateral options, but it does not mean that every user or jurisdiction can access bStocks.
Account checks and risk controls
Regular, VIP 1, and VIP 2 users must pass a suitability assessment questionnaire before using bStocks as collateral or using bStocks Margin when that feature becomes available. Binance may restrict additional bStocks transfers, purchases or borrowing of medium and low-liquidity assets, new Futures positions in Portfolio Margin accounts, or auto top-up when an account crosses certain risk thresholds.
VIP 3 and above users are exempt from the listed risk controls. Accounts that do not hold bStocks as collateral are not affected. Binance says the restrictions are lifted automatically after the account returns to a safe risk level.
About bStocks
bStocks are tokenized securities offered through Binance's regulated product structure in permitted jurisdictions. Binance states that bStocks are certificates representing financial instruments, not direct ownership of the underlying stocks.
The announcement changes collateral eligibility, not the legal nature of bStocks. Users should check regional access, the applicable prospectus, suitability requirements, liquidity classification, and the risk controls before using these assets as margin collateral.
